NYC: Thursday
Up until yesterday, Jessica hadn't even heard of Portalicity. So the trip back to NYC, along with a special guest, was quite easier than expected.
Malcolm had already done the groundwork for the case which was the usual: A wife cheating on the husband and the husband paying Hogarth for proof of the affair for a future divorce trial.
The case was unusual in one aspect: The credit card reports did not show any kind of use at the usual dive hotels used for hookups. However Malcolm had discovered a lease in the woman's maiden name that was still active. In Brownsville.
The place in question looked more like an abandoned building than an apartment which for some reason made Jessica uneasy.
Still, she had found a point on the roof of a main building that had sight on both the main and back entrances of the building. And she had two full flasks with her to keep her warm.
Hopefully her guest had brought his own. It could be a long day.
"Is this as glamorous as your LA stakeouts?" she asked as she peered through her telephoto lens.

"Not my boyfriend," Jessica replied sharply.
"Doesn't matter. He's going to die too. With the help of my friends."
At which point six crate tops popped off and several people stood up holding guns at both Lucifer and Jessica.
"God damn it," Jessica swore.
"I'm not the only person who was hurt by you people," Audrey said with a smirk as she and the other people began to open fire.

"You are not killing anyone today," he snapped, ignoring the few bullets that struck his chest.

Okay. So this was a thing. More importantly she threw another look at Lucifer.
"You're bulletproof too?"
Because that's totally important right now. As they are getting shot at.

Which he flung at one man like it was a tennis ball or something.

And now the rain of bullets stopped as Audrey and her band of idiots realized that bullets weren't working. And one of those men was now buried under a large crate.
Audrey turned and began to run.
"You want to beat the shit out of the rest of them while I get her?" She asked. She really didn't wait for a reply as she stomped quickly after Audrey, easily catching up with her.

And clapping his wings with force, sending their assailants stumbling back under a heavy gust of air. "Gentlemen," he said, moving forward as his wings retracted, "You did have your chance to back away."

But this one... this one was special.
Grabbing a hold of Audrey (who shrieked in panic), Jessica threw her to the ground and started to drag her back to the sheets of plastic.
"Do remember what I told you before?" Jessica asked/shouted. "What I'd do if I ever saw your face again?
Jessica dumped Audrey on the ground and picked up one of the bullets that had fallen to the floor.
"I know I said I'd use my pinky to shove this up your ass, but now I'm thinking my whole fist is more appropriate."

He threw the guns to the other side of the room after bending the barrels enough that they were unusable, and took off quickly in the direction of voices.
"Miss Jones?" he called.
no subject
"You're not worth it," she muttered and with a light tap/punch to the face, knocked her out.
"No need to be formal," she called back to Lucifer as she grabbed a nearby pipe and bent it around Audrey's ankles just in case she woke up and tried to get away.
And then realized he was taking off.
"Shit," she groaned and started off after him. "What now?"
no subject
"We may have even more company on the way," he said.

Apparently Jessica didn't completely knock her out.
"If you want to send her directly to hell? Fine by me. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200."
no subject
"I don't tend to kill humans if I can help it," he said. "Come on, let's get moving."
He gestured for the stairs.

The floor below was not an open floor plan and apparently had been constructed as a floor with offices.
With a very long hallway. Curious how that always happened in an MCU Netflix show.
Damn it, Matt.
And look. A bunch of thugs bursting through the door at the other end of the hallway.
"I don't suppose one of your powers is raining down fire and brimstone?" Jessica asked sarcastically.

Let's face it. Jessica was not the "face" of any adventuring party.

They kept coming.
"All right. Let's do this the hard way then," Jessica said brandishing the pipe.
She rushed forward and took out the first guy with a tap to the knee caps and then the next got a broken collarbone for his trouble.

"It's not my fault they never learn," he called, sliding gracefully out of the way of a tire-iron.
It was a bit like he was fighting to a choreography of some sort that involved no one laying a hand on him.
no subject
"Yeah, well they work for a fucking idiot," she replied as she decked the next guy hard and making him fly into the thug behind him.
