MHA #5: Tuesday Afternoon

superjoanjettThe phone was ringing. Loudly. And incessantly. And it was a hungover Jessica who finally picked up the phone and pulled it under the covers and started making threats.
"I don't know who this is, but I will kill you when I find out."
"Charming. Is that how you always greet potential clients?"
Ugh. Hogarth. "What do you want Jeri?"
"A client of mine has need of your assistance. And I also need a favor." Jeri replied.
"I'm not doing you any favors, Hogarth," Jessica groaned as she pulled herself out from under the covers.
"Fine. I have two jobs for you of which you will be well paid for," Jeri said with a huff. "The first involves a potential divorce case. My client believes his wife is cheating on him. And I need you-"
"Catch her humping someone. Fine. I'll sic Malcolm on it," Jessica grunted as she looked for a pair of pants.
"I'm not paying you to farm the job out. You're not the first one I've come to and I don't need an amateur mucking things up."
Jessica rolled her eyes as she inspected the jeans. When was the last time she switched pants? "Fine. But you're paying for travel."
"Fine. The person you are looking for is Audrey Segal. I'll forward you the case file. Now the other matter: I need you to look into someone. His name is Franklin Nelson."
Jessica took a moment. The name was familiar. "He's a lawyer right? The guy who defended Frank Castle."
"And was one of the lawyers to face off against Wilson Fisk," Jeri added. "I'm considering extending a job offer but I want a thorough background check."
"Right. I'll have-"
"A thorough background check."
Jessica sighed again. "Fine. I'll do it myself."
"Always a pleasure, Jessica."
"You're lying but as long as you pay me I don't give a shit," Jessica replied and hung up the phone.
Great. A trip home. She groaned and texted Trish and Malcolm. One for a lunch date and another to give details on the case. Malcolm was going to help her whether he liked it or not.
